We are one of thirteen regional chapters of the Academic Language Therapy Association and we are the only professional organization for written language specialists in Illinois.

The ALTA Illinois Chapter was officially recognized and approved by the National ALTA Organization’s Board of Directors in 2018. Members of the Academic Language Therapy Association have acquired certification that reflects a high level of specialized training in the remediation of written language skills, including dyslexia.

We invite you to explore our website to learn more about academic language therapy and to read the profiles of trained dyslexia specialists in our state.
